Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format.
- The manuscript follows the journal’s formatting template and adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references have been provided.
- All listed authors have made substantial contributions to the work and meet the criteria for authorship. No individual who qualifies for authorship has been omitted.
- The text adheres to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
- For manuscripts involving human subjects, appropriate informed consent has been obtained.
- For manuscripts involving animal or human subjects, review and approval (or a review and waiver) from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Independent Ethics Committee (IEC) was obtained prior to submission. Retrospective ethics approval or waiver statements are not accepted. If the manuscript is accepted, authors may be asked to upload the ethical clearance statement.
Research Articles
This section contains reports of new scientific research and studies related to public health.
Review Articles
This section contains comprehensive summaries of current knowledge on specific public health topics. This includes meta-analyses, narrative, scoping, and systematic reviews.
Commentaries, Opinions, and Letters to the Editor
This section contains commentaries, letters to the editor, and perspectives/opinions (i.e., authoritative views on emerging trends, challenges, or controversies in public health).
Case Reports/Case Studies
This section contains detailed reports of individual or group cases that have public health significance.
Brief Reports/Short Communications
This section contains reports of preliminary or limited studies or findings.
Protocols, Methods, and Techniques
This section contains articles describing novel or improved research protocols, methods, data collection techniques, or analytical approaches in public health.
Book Reviews
This section contains critical evaluations of newly published books related to public health.
Obituaries
This section contains tributes to notable figures in the public health community.
Preprints and Working Papers
This section contains non–non-peer-reviewed manuscripts, including preprints and preliminary or working papers. These contributions present early-stage findings, concepts, or methods and are shared to promote rapid dissemination and scholarly feedback prior to formal peer review.

Authors may request alternative licensing terms in special cases, such as institutional, funding, or legal requirements. These requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be made during the submission or revision stage.
