Teknologi Elektrolisis untuk Mempercepat Pembentukan Batu Kapur dalam Pertumbuhan Terumbu Karang

Abstract
Kerusakan terumbu karang telah menjadi masalah global yang serius karena dampaknya terhadap lingkungan dan keberlangsungan hidup manusia. Artikel ini menggunakan metode penulisan dengan analisis literatur dan pengalaman penulis (opini) untuk menjelaskan teknologi elektrolisis yang dapat digunakan untuk mempercepat pembentukan batu kapur dan pertumbuhan terumbu karang. Teknologi ini didasarkan pada elektrolisis air laut untuk mengendapkan karbonat kalsium (batu kapur) pada rangka baja besar yang berfungsi sebagai anoda dan katoda (elektroda) dan memberikan struktur awal pada terumbu karang baru. Meskipun elektrolisis tidak terjadi pada proses pembentukan endapan kapur di laut secara alami, teknologi ini dapat mempercepat proses terjadinya batu kapur yang sangat kuat dan sulit larut dalam air, yang dapat digunakan sebagai tempat pertumbuhan karang. Pemilihan teknologi yang tepat tergantung pada kondisi dan sumber daya yang tersedia, serta tujuan dari proses pembentukan batu kapur itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, teknologi elektrolisis dapat menjadi alternatif yang menarik untuk memperbaiki kerusakan terumbu karang dan mengembalikan keberlangsungan hidup laut.
