Landslide is a major problem in the field of geotechnical engineering, particularly in steep areas such as mountainous regions. In areas with steep topography, soil masses or rocks are unable to withstand the force of gravity and external forces acting on the slope, resulting in the movement of rock and soil. These materials move down the slope in the form of fragments, flows, and cascades over a wide area. Therefore, reinforcement is required to prevent collapse. One commonly used reinforcement method is pile. The pile installation patterns frequently employed are parallel arrangements in single and double rows. However, there has been no installation using a U-shaped configuration. Thus, this study aims to numerically analyze the stability of a slope reinforced with piles in a U-shaped configuration and compare it with the existing slope conditions without reinforcement. The method used is finite element analysis with the strength reduction method (SRM). The software used in the numerical analysis is Plaxis 2D. The results of SRM numerical analysis show that reinforcement with a double contiguous U-shaped pile system is capable of improving slope stability. This is indicated by an increase in the safety factor (FoS) value of up to 57% compared to the unreinforced slope.
