The oxygen demand has been increasing lately. Consequently, high-purity oxygen must be generated by oxygen concentrators. Because of its high efficiency and low operating costs, pressure swing adsorption is the most efficient method utilized in oxygen concentrator systems. In practical applications, this method necessitates multiple trials to determine the cycle time that produces the maximum oxygen concentration, with the system requiring to be stopped in advance. The use of this equipment supports the automation of the perturb and observe approach by enabling the cycle time to be changed without interrupting the system. This algorithm does nevertheless face the usual problem in that it may result in local maximums that restrict the search for the global maximum. This implies that modifications to the algorithm are required. The cycle time step size is changed to improve the P&O modification. Initially, a larger step size is employed, and if a crossing path in the produced oxygen concentration is found, the step size will be reduced. The experiment's findings demonstrate that P&O modifications might assist oxygen concentrator systems in avoiding local maximum problems as well as supply high-purity oxygen to fulfil oxygen needs.
